My heart gave me no rest since I wrote about the world system collapsing under COVID-19. I hear the Lord saying why are you not doing the needful. And I asked the Lord, what is the needful?
The Lord reminded me of the significant symbol of Medicine, which is a snake symbol on a tree like rod. There may be many sides to explain the origin of the symbol but the truth is that, it was a reminder of a major venomous epidemic that happened thousands of years ago. The disease then was a zoonotic disease transmitted from animal to man. The event was recorded in
Numbers 21:5-9 KJV
“And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. [6] And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. [7] Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. [8] And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. [9] And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.”
I speak to the body of Christ and every individual person that makes the body. Why shall we keep the truth for so long from the world over the recent development in the world?
Our Lord Jesus has given the simple solution to COVID-19, when He said in
John 3:14-16 KJV
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
There are no signs that shall be given to us again of the imminent anger of God upon the nations of the world. His anger against powerful government and people who have defied His power and relegated Him to non-existence. His anger against the Church for promoting sins and defiling His holy place. And no other convincing sign is needed for His evident second coming very close by.
Therefore, how do we appease our God? He is no longer interested in our sacrifices again, because He has made one sacrifice for Himself, which is pleasing to Him but the world decided to rubbish it.
The way to it is for us to raise the banner of the cross of the resurrected Christ, like Moses raised the serpent in the wilderness. That is the only appeasement, the only symbol of healing, the only vaccination that never disappoints and if the Son of man be lifted, as many that shall call upon Him shall be saved.
Let the Church revive her tract ministry, her bus evangelism, where possible, her street evangelism, her door to door, her altar call for salvation, and many other means of reaching out. Pointing the world to the prediction of this ongoing event and the solution that Christ has given ahead of time.
One of the Presidential Candidates in the US said “The Coronavirus pandemic is on a scale of major war, and could cause death more than the second World War.” Then I asked the question, who is fighting war against the unfriendly-united world? That person must be mighty.
I was also listening to the Prime Minster of the United Kingdom, warning British public to prepare to lose loved ones, hmmm! He was talking of consultation with scientist, that they will be guided by scientific advice. One of the advice, though not desirable, that more people be infected in order to develop immunity. He said subsequent decisions will be based on scientific evidences as the disease progresses. The advice that did not stop his Health Minister from being infected!
I just wonder, does the Church have any scriptural advice for the world? Then if we do, we should broadcast it now and save the people of the world from the imminent doom knocking the door of the world. We should break the culture of silence on the Truth, the Way and the Life. The people may be more interested in listening to you now.
For this reason the Son of God has manifested that He might destroy the work of the devil – SIN.
1 John 3:8 KJV
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
The Church should tell the world not to continue to confuse the symbol medicine as a snake on the rod, to mean the Greek god of Asclepius (god of healing) or the caduceus symbol with two snakes (god of commerce, traders, thieves, gambler and liars) but the truth of God’s rescue and mercy be told.
Let us reveal Jesus to the world again and again, He is the symbol of hope, healing and salvation for the world if they can embrace THE CROSS.
