THE MOTHER IN GOD

Text: Is 49:13-16, 66:10-14
It is great to come your way again today with the word of the Lord in this month of prophetic answers. Today is unique and the word of the Lord in my heart was a revelational understanding I received in the year 2018 for the Mothering Sunday. At about 1am CST today, the Lord just brought the word alive to me again on this Mother’s Day. I was actually meditating on another teaching series He dropped in my spirit when this came and He asked me to send this word to you on this Mother’s Day. I want to appreciate every mother and mothers to be, may you fulfill your ministry with joy in Jesus name.
I will be speaking to you on the title THE MOTHER IN GOD.
Introduction
It is an undeniable fact that God is our Father and the concept of prayers we were taught by our Lord Jesus Christ starts with OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN. Sure, He is our Father. But there is more to that than we imagine.
The scripture established that we were created in God’s image and that includes women because the scriptures says male and female created He them. That suggests that the combined nature that is reflected in man and woman is in God.
Genesis 1:26-27 KJV
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. [27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
The likeness of God is in every man and every woman, therefore there is a mother nature in God that He acts from but many a times we do not see God being a mother to us.
Let us look at two prophetic statements in the scriptures.
Isaiah 49:13-16 KJV
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. [14] But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. [15] Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. [16] Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Isaiah 66:10-14 KJV
Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: [11] That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. [12] For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. [13] As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. [14] And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
In the first text let me bring out 5 traits of a mother that God associated Himself with. This was a statement made by God Himself in response to the issue raised by Zion in verse 15.
God compare Himself to a mother to give assurance to Zion that He still cares about them and that is profound.
I don’t know what is going through your mind and any situation of helplessness around you, and more like concluding you have been forgotten, hear your Mother in heaven talking here. You are not forgotten I still care.
The five traits are:
- A mother does not give up on her suckling child –
- A mother cannot walk away from her child without compassion – The story of Hagar came to mind. The bottle of water that Abraham gave her and the child was exhausted in the desert and there was no way for her to get water. She cried to God, like why would you allow this child to die of dehydration, I can’t stand here look at this child dying. And God saw her heart and came to the rescue. You can imagine instead of bottled water God replaced it with a well. Interesting stories of women in the bible abound. Like the mother in the days of Solomon, the widow in Elisha’s day and the widow of Zarephath.
I don’t know what you have that exhausted. you have come to your last hope and nothing more to hang on to. Hear the word of the Lord,
1 Kings 17:14 KJV
“For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.”
May be all areas of help you looked on to, is no more even during this global crisis, your divine help and angelic visitation is coming your way in Jesus name.
- A mother will not forget the name of her child – You are written in the palm of my hand
- A mother will be concerned with the future of her child – your wall is continually before me
- A mother will save her child even if she is going to perish – That reminds me a story of a mother with her child who fell into a ditch while driving in the winter. No one could see them immediately to come to their rescue. They were there for several hours. The mother had to remove her own jacket further wrapped the baby until help will come. Eventually when help came, they were rescued but unfortunately after some days the woman could not make it because of the impact of the extreme cold on her body but the baby survived. That is what is in a mother.
God concludes by saying if a mother does forget or did not take up this role, I will not forget you says the Lord. The Lord said He is taking a special role for someone at this time, He has fathered you all this while but I hear Him saying I am bringing THE COMFORT OF A MOTHER to you.
This is so relaxing to hear and that takes me to the second passage.
There are three stages of mother’s care that the Lord described here in verse 12 and which He also identifies with that He will do.
- Gives Suck
- Carries by side – The Lord said He will carry you till old age. Is 46:4
- Lays on the laps
These are ways a mother expresses care and comfort to a child. These are deep and it has different sides to individuals.
There is a word of the Lord in my heart, as you are reading this message, you are there suffering from sleeplessness. This insomnia is due to a lot of factors you are struggling with and for days and probably months you have not been able to sleep well. I see God like a mother parting her baby to sleep and singing bed time song for you. This night by the word of the Lord the root of your sleeplessness dies in Jesus name. It is uprooted and it shall be no more for the Lord will give you sleep.
Psalm 4:7-8 KJV
Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. [8] I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
Psalm 127:2 KJV
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Quickly, when you receive a mother care from the Lord, three things follow as in verse 14 of Is 66:
- You will rejoice
- You will flourish
- You will have victory by His hand
- You may have been so stressed;
- You may have had many disappointments;
- You may have lost loved ones;
- You may have lost your job;
- You may have been in broken relationship;
- You may have lost the joy of your marriage;
- Your children may have been your pains;
- You may have been troubled on every side;
- You may have been under affliction in your health;
- You may be carrying the burden of debt in your finances;
- It may be like the global situation now is biting hard on you;
- Or your expectations have not been met;
- You may have been troubled by your sins and unstable in your relationship with God.
- Or maybe you are having things going good for you.
Hear ye the word of the Lord, the breast of the Lord will give you milk, the hands and side of the Lord will give you warmth and shade, and the laps of the Lord will provide a safe landing for you in Jesus’ name.
How will it sound and look like to say our heavenly Mother on this Mother’s Day as you receive the care and comfort of a mother from the Lord!!!
Happy Mother’s Day. May the blessing of God be upon every mother and every one that has been termed barren at the sound of my voice, as it happened to Elizabeth, the Lord will look upon you and remove your reproach among men. That was Elizabeth testimony in Luke 1:25.
But this is what Angel Gabriel told May to encourage her faith
Luke 1:36 CEV
“Your relative Elizabeth is also going to have a son, even though she is old. No one thought she could ever have a baby, but in three months she will have a son.”
Some of you are coming out of this lockdown with your long-awaited pregnancy in Jesus name.
Let me give you this opportunity if you have not been born of the Lord in a spiritual birth, you need to accept His Lordship, call on him, forsake your sin and be born again. You are in for a refreshing relationship as you confess Jesus as your Lord. He cares.
